Critics' first impressions: not bad, but not great - the first five episodes of the third season of The Witcher series have premiered on Netflix
The first five episodes of the third season of The Witcher series have premiered on streaming service Netflix.
Here's What We Know
Since the season is split into two parts, it doesn't have an overall rating yet, but some portals have published critics' opinions on the individual episodes.
Overall, reviewers have been happy with the episodes they've seen, but without rave reviews. "Normal" is how the first five episodes of the third season can be characterised.
Experts note that all the positive aspects of the series remained: excellent acting work Henry Cavill, spectacular action scenes, good development of characters and dialogues.
The downsides are that there are too many storylines which start to confuse the audience at some point. We did not do without major changes of the plot of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels, which always received the audience unfavourably.
Many reviewers have suggested that with Cavill gone, the Witcher series is set to lose its audience for good as he was the bright spot in a mediocre series.
The second half of the third season will be released on July 27.
