Three unnamed NATO countries will receive Israeli Rotem kamikaze drones with a range of up to 10km
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has announced new contracts for Rotem kamikaze drones. The customers are three unnamed countries.
Here's What We Know
Details of the contracts have not been disclosed. There is no information on the amount of the deals, nor on the number of drones that will be delivered to the customers. What is known is that IAI has signed three contracts with three NATO countries.
The Rotem kamikaze drone resembles an ordinary oversized civilian quadcopter. It has a range of 10km, weighs 6kg and can remain airborne for up to 30 minutes with a payload (1.2kg) or up to 45 minutes without a payload on board.
The Rotem can be used in all weather conditions and at any time of day. For this purpose, the kamikaze drone is equipped with daytime and night-time surveillance. In addition, the operator can cancel the attack. The drone will then return safely. This allows it to be used not only for strikes, but also for surveillance of the enemy.
