AMD suddenly introduced Ryzen 5 5600X3D chip with additional 3D V-Cache for $229
AMD has suddenly expanded its Ryzen 5000 range. The "red" giant has introduced the Ryzen 5 5600X3D desktop processor.
Here's What We Know
The new chip has additional 3D V-Cache. Previously, only the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-core 16-thread processor could boast of this, but it costs about twice as much as the recent novelty.
The Ryzen 5 5600X3D gets six cores with multi-threading support. The base frequency is 3.3GHz and Boost frequency is 4.4GHz, which is 400MHz and 200MHz less than the regular Ryzen 5 5600.
The new processor is equipped with 99 MB of cache memory (3 MB L2 + 96 MB L3). The previously mentioned Ryzen 5600X has almost three times less memory (3MB + 32MB). Heat dissipation requirements have been increased from 65W to 105W.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The manufacturer's recommended price is $229. You can buy the chip from July 7 exclusively at Micro Center shop. Thus, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D is $70 cheaper than the Ryzen 5 5600X at launch. However, the latter now sells for less than $200. Sometimes the price drops to $150. And for $220 you can get Ryzen 5 7600X now.
