Edwards Air Force Base begins preparations for sixth-generation fighter tests and forms Ari Dominance CTF test team
The US Air Force is a long way from getting its sixth-generation fighter jet. However, at Edwards Air Force Base, preparations have already started for tests on the aircraft.
Here's What We Know
Lieutenant Colonel Michael Coleman officially assumed command of the 411th Flight Test Squadron from Lieutenant Colonel David Schmitt. The ceremony took place early last month. The transition was a significant milestone for the military airbase.
The F-22 Raptor Combined Test Force has officially become the Air Dominance Combined Test Force. It is tasked with flight testing the next generation air platforms that are being developed as part of the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) programme.
Air Dominance CTF will plan and execute comprehensive flight test campaigns for the NGAD family of air systems. In doing so, the group will continue to conduct tests to improve the fifth-generation F-22 Raptor fighter.
