Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals developers in a new diary talked about the "Walkie-Talkie" system, which should further diversify the game's dialogues
The original Oxenfree by Night Schools Studios changed the way players interacted with the dialogue in the game. In addition to the standard options for plot development, players could interrupt characters at certain moments or not speak to them at all, which also had an impact on the further development of the story. In Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, the mechanics will remain similar, but will be expanded with the new Wolkie-Talkie feature, which the developers have described in their recent blog post.
Here's What We Know
According to the new developer diary, you will be able to communicate with characters who are at a remote distance from you and have conversations that will have different branches. They can also call you, and you will decide whether to answer or completely ignore them. All this will affect the overall story, which, like the original game, also has many different endings.
Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals takes place five years after the original game, when Riley Poverly returns to his hometown of Kamen to investigate an electromagnetic phenomenon.
When We Can Expect It
The game is scheduled for release on 12 July on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Windows, and mobile via Netflix.
