Overwatch 2 producer says players shouldn't expect story missions in seasons after Season 6
With Overwatch 2's Season 6 coming soon, bringing new story missions and co-op events, Jared Neuss, the game's producer, said that we'll have to wait a little longer for the next batch of PvE content.
Here's What We Know
During the live broadcast, Neuss noted that after Overwatch 2 Season 6, no more story missions will be added in the following seasons. According to him, this decision is due to the complexity of developing story content and the team's desire to expand the functionality of Overwatch 2:
"Don’t expect the next round [of story missions] in the next season and the season after that, or anything like that. It is very much like trying to find that balance between getting [story missions] in front of players quickly because we love story stuff, and giving ourselves enough time to make changes or add features"
The plans for story missions were announced in June following Blizzard's controversial decision to cancel Hore's Mode, which was focused on PvE. Future story missions will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Gothenburg, and Toronto.
