OnePlus Open: the name of the company's first foldable smartphone
We've written more than once that OnePlus is working on its first foldable smartphone. Now, thanks to insider @MaxJmb, information has surfaced online about the name of the new product.
Here's What We Know
So, if the leak is to be believed, OnePlus has decided to take a different approach. Therefore, there will be no word Fold in the name of the new product. The gadget will be called OnePlus Open. The device will compete with Google Pixel Fold, Samsung Galaxy Fold 5, vivo X Fold 2 and other models.
In terms of specs, the smartphone will be equipped with two displays: a 7.8-inch main display with a resolution of 2K, and a 6.3-inch sub-display. Both panels will have an AMOLED matrix with a picture refresh rate of 120Hz. The OnePlus Open is expected to run a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The gadget will be powered by a 4,800mAh battery. It will get 67W charging support. The novelty will have four cameras: a triple 48 MP + 48 MP + 64 MP main camera and a single 32 MP front-facing camera. The smartphone will also get a proprietary sound mode switch, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and the Android 13 operating system with Oxygen OS 13.1 shell.
When We Can Expect It
The OnePlus Open will be unveiled in August.
