Romania and Lockheed Martin to open an F-16 training centre in the country for NATO and Ukrainian pilots
Romania intends to open a centre to train F-16 fighter pilots. Here pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force will be trained as well.

The centre will be opened with the support of the American company Lockheed Martin. The statement of the Supreme National Defense Council of Romania said that pilots from Romania will be trained here and then the centre will be available for pilots from NATO and partner countries, including Ukraine.
Romania is still without F-16 fighters, but their arrival in the country is only a matter of time. Bucharest has been preparing to buy American planes for several years, and last year the U.S. allowed Norway to sell the F-16s.
Romania will pay about $425 million for 32 F-16 fighters of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. In addition, the U.S. recently approved $105 million worth of hardware and software to upgrade the planes.
