US officially announces transfer of DPICM M864 cluster munitions for 155mm howitzers to Ukraine
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have finally received cluster munitions from the USA. The White House has officially confirmed that the new aid package will include DPICM projectiles.

The US Department of Defense has several cluster munitions in its arsenal, including the M30 for M142 HIMARS rocket artillery. However, so far it is a case of 155 mm DPICM M864 rounds for howitzers.
The number of cluster munitions is not specified. The DPICM transfer was officially confirmed by National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan at a White House briefing.
In the coming hours, the US Department of Defence will publish a detailed list of weapons to be included in the new military aid package for Ukraine. In addition to cluster munitions, the $800m package is expected to include missiles for air defence systems, M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Stryker armoured personnel carriers.
