According to research firm Omdia, Apple will introduce iPad Pro tablets with OLED displays next year.

Here's What We Know

According to the source, mass production of the tablets will start in early 2024. And that makes sense, as updates to the iPad Pro typically occur every 1.5 years. The current iPad Pro models were released in October 2022, so the launch of their successors in early 2024 makes sense.

The iPad Pro displays are expected to increase slightly from 11 and 12.9 inches currently to 11.1 and 13 inches in the next models. These will be OLED panels with a combination of flexible and rigid materials to reduce their thickness. Benefits of OLED technology include higher brightness, higher contrast ratio, greater colour accuracy and lower power consumption compared to LCD panels.

To date, Apple has used OLED displays in the latest iPhone and Apple Watch models, with the exception of the iPhone SE.

On top of that, researchers expect the first MacBook Pro with an OLED display to be released in 2027.
