Firesprite studio will become a "creative powerhouse" for PlayStation as it has high hopes for it
Firesprite, which was acquired by PlayStation in 2021, will have much higher expectations and many big projects to deliver in the future, so it is embarking on an expansion to meet its new mission.
Here's What We Know
Not so long ago, Firespite Studios announced that it was moving to a new studio space in Liverpool, which the developers say will help them realise their "vision of becoming a creative company in the PlayStation Studios family". The company says that their new studio space is built on the principles of "collaboration and inclusivity" and is designed to support a "new paradigm of working" that includes remote and office-based work. The studio also stated that they currently employ over 250 developers and plan to hire more.
The first project of the studio after the acquisition was Horizon Call of the Mountain, which was released for PlayStation VR2 in February as part of the launch lineup. As for future plans, the job posting indicates that Firesprite is working on a new AAA horror game with a complex storyline. According to PlayStation documents, the game, codenamed Heartbreak, is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC.
