Emulators are working again on Xbox: enthusiasts have found a new way

Previously, Xbox owners could download apps directly from the Microsoft Store, allowing them to install emulators and play games from other platforms. However, earlier this year, Microsoft disabled this feature and now users can only run apps from the developer store, but a group called the UWeaPons Store has discovered a new way to run these apps on retail devices.

Here's What We Know

Although the group is not disclosing the exact method for fear of Microsoft shutting down this feature, users who wish to have access to this new method can subscribe to the group's Patreon. The group is offering access to the new method for a monthly fee of £2/$2.

It is unclear how Microsoft will react to this new information, but according to the latest video from MVG, the method is already working at the time of publication.

Thanks to the Microsoft Edge update at the end of 2021, users were able to access browser-based emulators for Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Super NES, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, MS DOS, Amiga, and other platforms.

P.S. The developer mode is available for a fee of $20, and it allows users to install assemblies for software development that use the universal Windows platform.
