Xbox has started testing a feature that will help complain about toxic players in voice chat
Xbox is starting to test a new feature that will allow you to send complaints about toxic players who insult others in voice chat.
Here's What We Know
Xbox Insider members started testing the feature this week. How does it work? Players on an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One can record a 60-second video clip of inappropriate behaviour and send it to the Xbox Safety Team for review.
Currently, the feature is only available in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. And given that all of these situations will be analysed by a team of people, not algorithms or AI, only situations that occurred in English are currently being considered.
Xbox also said that this feature is designed so that players can quickly record the situation, return to the gameplay, and complete the report when the game is over. However, the clips that are being reviewed will not appear in your "library". You can't share them with anyone or post them on Twitter. Also, such a clip "lives" for 24 hours, and if you do not send it to the Xbox Safety Team during this time, it will be automatically deleted.
It is not known what punishment a player who receives a complaint and has it confirmed will receive. It's unlikely that their account will be banned, but they will receive a restriction.
