Limited Run Games announces remaster of Clock Tower for PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC
During the last LRG3 presentation, distributor Limited Run Games announced a remaster of the survival-horror game Clock Tower. The remaster is being developed with the support of Capcom, Sunsoft, and WayForward. Interestingly, this is the first release of the original Clock Tower game outside of Japan.
Here's What We Know
The original Clock Tower originally appeared on the SNES back in 1995. Compared to other well-known titles such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, Clock Tower was more of an adventure game with horror elements at that time. Later, the franchise appeared on the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2, where it was adapted to modern standards.
The Clock Tower remaster will offer the same classic gameplay, but with an updated control system that meets modern realities. It will also have updated images and animations, which will make the pixelated image more refined and suitable for modern displays.
Rumours about the return of Clock Tower appeared back in April, when publisher Sunsoft planned to announce the revival of the franchise during a live broadcast. Although the game was not officially announced at that time, the announcement by Limited Run Games is probably related to what was expected from Sunsoft earlier this year.
When We Can Expect It
The Clock Tower remaster will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in early 2024.
