Microsoft has announced the closure of the Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family feature in countries where it was previously launched for testing
Microsoft has announced the closure of its Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family programme in eight countries where the service was previously launched, allowing Xbox Game Pass owners to share the benefits of their subscription with up to four friends or family members. There is currently no indication that the feature may return in the future.
Here's What We Know
A Microsoft representative confirmed to Eurogamer that the Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family programme will be discontinued on 15 August. Initially, the company launched the feature calling it a test, but later it admitted that it was a pre-release test of a pilot project in selected countries.
All those who participated in the test will receive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate codes as a "thank you for participating," according to an Xbox support article.
