Doroni Aerospace has moved one step closer to releasing an electric flying vehicle with vertical takeoff and landing. The vehicle is called the H1 and recently made its first manned flight.

Here's What We Know

Although the Doroni Aerospace H1 is positioned as a car, it is not designed to be driven on roads. Although externally, the flying machine looks a bit like a sports car.

The Doroni Aerospace H1 is equipped with eight engines that drive the blades. The flying machine has taken to the air more than 50 times during tests, but the recent test was the first time when there was a pilot in the cabin.

The pilot was Doron Merdinger, founder and CEO of Doroni Aerospace. The test took place in a hangar. The H1 climbed to a low altitude, made several manoeuvres and successfully made a soft landing.

The flying electric vehicle can reach speeds of up to 225 km/h and has a range of 100 kilometres. The H1 is a light sport aircraft according to the Federal Aviation Administration classification, which means it does not require a pilot's licence to fly. But to fly it, you must complete a 15-hour course.

Doroni Aerospace plans to be certified by the end of 2024 and begin deliveries of the flying electric vehicle next year. The H1 will cost $195,000.
