The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom topped the list of the most popular Switch games in Japan in the first six months of 2023

The fact that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has become a favourite of both players and critics alike, is beyond doubt. Just look at the number of copies sold in the first three days after release - more than 10 million. So it's no surprise that the game has also become the best-selling digital game on Switch this year.

This was confirmed by Nintendo itself: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom topped the recently published charts of the most downloaded Switch games in Japan during the first half of 2023.

Interestingly, its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, also climbed to 6th place. Other titles in the top 30 include such hits as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 3, Monster Hunter Rise, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, among others.
