Ford's F-150 Lightning electric pickups will drop in price by $6,000-10,000 from October 2023
Ford has decided to reduce the price of the F-150 Lightning electric pickup trucks. But the discount will be valid only from October 2023.
Here's What We Know
Starting from the second month of autumn, the cost of Ford F-150 Lightning will drop by $6000-10,000. The base version will cost $49,995, while the most expensive Platinum Extended Range package will cost buyers $91,995.
One of the reasons for the price drop is scaling up production. Ford's Michigan facility is expected to reach volumes of 150,000 pickups per year by October. In addition, the cost of raw materials for batteries is falling globally.
To encourage buyers to pre-order now, the company is offering a $1,000 discount. But the special offer is only valid until the end of this month. It's also worth noting that you have to pay almost $2000 to get the car to a dealer.
Platinum Extended Range is the only modification of the electric pickup that does not fall under the federal subsidy programme. Buyers of other versions of the F-150 Lightning II will be able to save an additional $7500.
