Previously, most Samsung smartphones used to receive major operating system updates for only 2 years. In 2020, the company said that all flagship Galaxy phones released in 2019 and later, as well as the Galaxy A series, would receive 3 Android updates each. Samsung eventually decided to add a fourth year of major OS updates for its flagships and some mid-range phones. This year, Android 14 will be the third and final update for some Samsung smartphones and tablets.

Here's What We Know

So, the list includes four smartphones and one tablet:

  • Galaxy A52
  • Galaxy A52s
  • Galaxy A52 5G
  • Galaxy A72
  • Galaxy Tab S7 FE.

All of them were running Android 11 and were eligible for 3 major updates, so their support ends this year. More precisely, the devices will continue to receive security patches and maybe a few minor One UI updates. But there will be no more new Android versions for them.

By the way, the list doesn't include devices that won't be upgrading to Android 14, because although they were launched with Android 12, they don't fall under either Samsung's three-year or four-year update policy.
