Indonesia to order 12 TAI Anka reconnaissance drones worth $300m - the drone can reach speeds of more than 200km/h and has a range of almost 5,000km
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has received an order for the production and delivery of Anka drones. The Indonesian Ministry of Defence wants to arm itself with Turkish drones.

Earlier this week, the Indonesian defence ministry announced the signing of the contract on official social media accounts. Indonesia has ordered 12 drones worth $300 million, with deliveries to be completed within 32 months of the agreement coming into effect.
TAI Anka is Turkey's long-range reconnaissance drone. It has a maximum take-off weight of 1,700kg and can carry up to 350kg of payload. The propulsion system is represented by a TEI-PD170 engine with 170 horsepower.
The drone can reach speeds of up to 217 km/h. The cruising speed is 204 km/h. Anka is capable of climbing to an altitude of up to 9.1 kilometres, has a range of almost 5,000 kilometres and can stay in the air for up to 30 hours.
