F-35 Lightning II, Patriot, Leopard 2 and HIMARS - Poland held the biggest military parade in 30 years
In honour of the Polish Army holiday, Poland hosted the largest military parade in the last three decades. Many examples of Western, Soviet and Polish military equipment, including fifth-generation fighter jets, took part in the event.
Here's What We Know
For years, the size of Poland's armed forces has been shrinking. The troops left the eastern part of the country in accordance with the defence plan along the Vistula line. Poland does not intend to make such mistakes again. This was announced by President Andrzej Duda.
The military parade featured K2 Black Panther, M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks, K9 Thunder self-propelled artillery, M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Rosomak armoured personnel carriers. Patriot surface-to-air missile launchers and HIMARS multiple rocket launchers were also seen.
A number of Soviet and Western aircraft could be seen in the sky. In particular, F-35 Lightning II, F-16 Fighting Falcon, Su-29, Su-22 and Eurofighter Typhoon. UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache, Mi-8, Mi-14 and AW101 helicopters also flew over.
