Smartphone giant Xiaomi Mi Max updated to MIUI 9

In parallel with the launch of new smartphones, Xiaomi continues to update its devices to MIUI 9. The company began distributing an update for the Xiaomi Mi Max.

New firmware based on Android Nougat brought the support for the screen split function - the very thing for the 6.44-inch Xiaomi Mi Max. In other respects, the shell practically did not change externally. Attentive users can notice icon animations when running applications and an updated desktop editing mode. Optimizations MIUI 9 should positively affect the speed of the smartphone.

How to upgrade?

The update should arrive "by air", you can check its availability in the settings. As usual, it's better to be safe and first make backup copies of important data.

When installing manually, you need to download the firmware on the official site (important: for the 32 GB model and the older Prime-version files are different) and save it in the smartphone memory. Next, you need to open the "Update" application, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and "Select the firmware file."

Xiaomi promises to release MIUI 9 for most of its smartphones, including the old Xiaomi Mi 2. However, for him and five more brand models this will be the last update.
