Following the ThinkPad mass notebooks , Lenovo introduced new models of the flagship ThinkPad X1 series at CES 2018 - a 14-inch Carbon sixth-generation ultrabook, a Yoga flip-flop and a 13-inch Tablet tablet.

Thin and powerful

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is equipped with a 14-inch IPS-display with certification of Dolby Vision HDR, resolution up to 2560x1440 pixels and brightness up to 500 cd / m². With a thickness of only 15.95 mm, the notebook weighs 1.13 kg. Inside, the quad-core Intel Core processors of the eighth generation (Kaby Lake-R energy-efficient solutions with Intel UHD 620 graphics), up to 16 GB of RAM are used. Configurations with an SSD of up to 1 TB will be available.

The laptop-transformer ThinkPad X1 Yoga received similar characteristics, but its 14-inch display can rotate 360 degrees, and in the case there is a slot for the stylus. The body weighing 1.4 kg is just a millimeter thicker than Carbon's. Both models received a hardware stub for the ThinkShutter webcam, though it will not provide full protection against shadowing - a system of two microphones is capable of hearing everything that happens within a radius of four meters. But now the user can activate the voice assistant from a distance, and besides Cortana, Alexa's assistant from Amazon is supported.

The interface is represented by four USB ports (two Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C and two full-size USB 3.0), an HDMI connector and a card reader. There is a dual-band Wi-Fi adapter, a Bluetooth 4.2 module, a SIM slot with LTE support and a fingerprint scanner. An optional webcam with IR sensor is also available for logging in using the Windows Hello function. The battery life time reaches 15 hours. Of the pleasant bonuses is the use of the ThinkPad Crystal Image profile, thanks to which there will be no unnecessary applications and other "garbage" in the system, and companies can easily configure corporate computers through the cloud service Microsoft AutoPilot.

Clone Surface Pro

The tablet Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet has grown diagonal and there is a built-in stand, which only adds similarities to the hybrid Microsoft Surface Pro. The gadget received a 13-inch touchscreen IPS-display with a resolution of 3000x2000 pixels and support for HDR. Lenovo Pen Pro digital pen with recognition of 4096 levels of depression is sold separately. For the performance is responsible for the Intel Core processor of the new generation (up to Core i7), there is up to 16 GB of RAM LPDDR3 and up to 1 TB on the solid-state drive.

On the detachable keyboard there is a red trackpoint. Without it, the tablet weighs 890 grams, and the body dimensions are 304x226x8.9 mm. There are two Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C connectors, a card reader and a slot for nano-SIM. Symmetrical Type-C port is used for charging (as in other ThinkPad 2018), the claimed battery life is 9.5 hours.
