Somnox pillow pillow will help you sleep well
Back in November, Dutch engineers launched on Kickstarter a "smart" pillow Somnox, capable of simulating human breathing. The novelty was demonstrated to the general public at the CES 2018 exhibition in Las Vegas.
What kind of beast?
Somnox reminds a huge bean - it is made in order to be comfortable with her to sleep in an embrace. The pillow constantly contracts and expands. With the help of built-in sensors it synchronizes "breathing" with the host, which helps to relax and promotes a sound sleep.
In addition to the rhythmic movement, the gadget can play various sounds. It can be white noise, heartbeat, soothing music or a favorite audiobook - all this can be downloaded on to a memory card. The team is working on the possibility of recording the breath of a person. Built-in alarm clock will also be. In the daytime the robot-pillow needs to be put on charging.
The Somnox mode is configured in the mobile application for Android and iOS. To communicate with the smartphone, Bluetooth is used, and during the sleep the wireless module is automatically turned off. Inside the pillow, there are sensors not yet activated. At CES, the creators reported that they plan to add a sleep tracking function in the future.
How much innovation?
Despite the relatively high cost of 350 to 450 euros, Somnox successfully collected $ 200,000 at Kickstarter and another as much - at Indiegogo, where pre-orders are continued at a price of 500 euros apiece. The first deliveries will begin in July this year. The project recalled another interesting pillow-kotozamenitelya Qoobo, which is still available only in Japan.
