iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max - Apple A17 Pro, Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, USB-C and record thin bezels priced from $999

Apple has announced the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. The company from Cupertino called them the most professional smartphones in its history.

Here's What We Know

In terms of design, the new generation models do not differ much from the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max, which were announced in 2022. Of the differences it is worth noting the appearance of the Action Button on the side edge. It can perform various actions, including launching the camera or torch.

An important innovation is the addition of a symmetrical USB Type-C connector instead of the proprietary Lightning port. The data transfer speeds are up to 10Gbps. The body of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max is made of titanium. Also smartphones are characterised by record thin frames.

The silicon brain of the new generation models is the Apple A17 Pro chip. The processor has 19 billion transistors and received support for ray tracing technology. At the presentation, it was announced that Assassin's Creed Mirage, Resident Evil Village and Resdent Evil 4 games will be released for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

The resolution of the main camera is 48 MP. It has an f/1.78 aperture lens and optical image stabilisation. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are able to take ProRAW photos without compression. The equivalent focal length is 24mm, 28mm or 35mm. You can shoot video in 4K UHD with frame rates of 24/25/30/60 FPS.

The ultra-wide-angle camera and telephoto lens have 12 MP image sensors. The lossless optical zoom multiples are 3x and 5x in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max respectively.

As in the last generation smartphones, there is a Dynamic Island cutout at the front. It features 3D facial recognition sensors and a 12 MP front camera. The selfie camera too can shoot videos in 4K with frame rates up to 60 FPS.

The iPhone 15 Pro gets a Super Retina XDR display with a 120Hz frame rate and a resolution of 2556 x 1179 pixels. The diagonal is 6.1". The Pro Max version is equipped with a 6.7" panel. The resolution has increased to 2,796 x 1,290 pixels.

As usual, Apple does not disclose the amount of RAM and battery capacity. This we will find out in a few days. From other parameters of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max it is worth noting stereo speakers, GPS, NFC and IP68 water protection.

Price & When We Can Expect It

Despite the rumours, the smartphones have not increased in price. The iPhone 15 Pro cost a minimum of $999. The Pro Max version Apple has estimated at $1199 in the base modification. The launch of sales is scheduled for September 22, 2023, and pre-orders will be open as early as next Friday.
