The Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation has handed over a large batch of kamikaze drones to the Ukrainian Defence Forces. Now the organisation is raising funds to buy twice as many UAVs.

Here's What We Know

The foundation was able to raise more than UAH 16 million ($430,000) to buy 1,000 FPV drones. As you can see, the average cost of one UAV is approximately $430. One such UAV is capable of destroying a tank worth several million dollars.

Now the charity, in conjunction with Uklon, plans to raise UAH 50 million ($1.35 million) to buy 2,000 FPV drones. The average cost of the UAVs is $675, but this amount includes control stations, repeaters and operator training.

FPV drones are used to target manpower, surface-to-air missile systems, multiple rocket launchers, surveillance stations, radars and various types of armoured vehicles, including tanks and howitzers. The drones are often equipped with 1kg of explosives and can attack targets within a radius of less than 10km.
