On the official website of Samsung appeared details of a high-speed sensor for future devices of the company. As expected, it will be used in the flagships Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 +, the announcement of which will be held at the exhibition MWC 2018.

What's new?

By analogy with Sony solutions, the ISOCELL sensor is equipped with a memory chip, which allows you to quickly read information from the photosensitive matrix. As a result, you can shoot ultra-slow Full HD-video at a speed of up to 480 frames per second. So far, there is no detailed information about the operation of the technology. Flagship Sony is able to shoot at 960 frames per second, but only in HD-resolution and only with the slowing down of a small fragment of up to 0.18 seconds (stretches for 6 seconds).

The new generation sensor also supports Super PD phase auto focus and Smart WDR technology, which allows you to combine several pixels into one to improve image quality in poor lighting conditions. The description also mentions double cameras with optical zoom and background blur effects.

Rumors claim that the Galaxy S9 will receive a 12-megapixel camera with a variable aperture f / 1.5 or f / 2.4, like a Chinese clamshell Samsung W2018. In the Plus version, the main module will be doubled.

When the announcement?

According to preliminary data, the presentation of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus is scheduled for February 25, the "zero" day of the exhibition Mobile World Congress 2018. The pre-order will open almost immediately after the premiere, and sales of new products will begin in mid-March.
