Google's deal to buy part of HTC's mobile unit came to an end. Both companies announced this tonight without going into details. Most likely, the details of the transaction have not changed since the moment of their announcement. The entire team that developed Pixel smartphones will work under the guidance of Google. But HTC will continue to produce smartphones and Vive products under its brand.

Senior vice president of hardware Rick Osterlo wrote on Google Blog that from now on a new team will be brought to the table, and they will also exchange experience in the field of artificial intelligence, hardware and software. Osterlo said that after the deal, Taipei will become a major engineering and innovation center of Google in the Asia-Pacific region.
