Throughout the winter, Curiosity Rover took photos of Mars to make a panoramic image of the crater Gale.
What was shown
Mars rover made a lot of photos, which scientists from NASA put together in one panorama. The resolution of the Curiosity camera is sufficient to create detailed images. In the photo, even the mountains are visible, which are located outside the crater.
Curiosity Rover has been on Mars for 2000 days. It was launched on November 26, 2011 and only on August 6, 2012 the rover reached its destination. It is noteworthy that Curiosity's design will serve as the basis for creating the next model, which is scheduled for launch in 2020.
