Xiaomi is halting development of new MIUI firmware versions for 2021 flagships and has temporarily suspended MIUI distribution for 2022-2023 models
Xiaomi has announced that it will stop developing new versions of MIUI software for six smartphones. Among them are three flagships of 2021 release year.
Here's What We Know
The Chinese company will no longer add new features to MIUI 14 for the Xiaomi Mi 11, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. Three Redmi models, the Redmi K40S, Redmi Note 11t Pro, and Redmi Note 11T Pro+ have also been added to the list.
Despite this, Xiaomi will release MIUI 14 firmware with Android 14 for each smartphone. A complete withdrawal of support is expected in one to two years.
Seven more models will also stop receiving test MIUI 14 with Android 13 operating system. But this is a temporary solution. The Chinese company will resume sending out the software after the release of Android 14.
