Google has released a fresh infographics on the distribution of Android OS versions.

What is known

Now, 1.1% of Android smartphones in the world work on Android Oreo. According to statistics, the share of Oreo and Nougat is growing, and all older versions of Android are slowly losing ground.

The most important news is that, literally in a month, Android Oreo's share has grown by 0.4%. Basically, this is due to the fact that companies such as Honor, Huawei, Motorola, HMD Global have updated most of their devices to Android 8.0 Oreo. The next month, the figure should be even better because Essential, Samsung and other OEMs will also begin updating the device to the current version of the operating system.

This month Android Nougat (7.0-7.1.1) increased by 2.2% and the whole share of this version of the OS was 28.5%.

In the dry residue

In general, the figures are not surprising yet, and the next version of Android P is already on the way. But let's hope that this year everything will change radically, thanks to Project Treble.
