Samsung patents a full-screen smartphone with an analog 3D Touch

Smartphones are becoming more and more frameless, and Samsung has been thinking about how you can simplify the work with such gadgets. In the new patent, the company showed its version of the "device of the future" with full-screen design.

How it works?

The document describes a device whose display is completely devoid of the bottom frame and is sensitive to the force of pressing. Like the 3D Touch function on the iPhone, there are three levels of intensity, depending on which different actions can be performed. The current flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 + recognize a strong push only at the bottom of the screen - so you can return to the desktop from any application or game.

The technology has several use scenarios. So, with the usual touch you can wake up the smartphone to just watch the time, and pressing with effort activates the built-in fingerprint scanner (yes, Samsung decided to tease us and this chip). Android system buttons do not have to be always in front of your eyes, but a strong click on the desired area, for example, will return the user to the previous screen.

Similarly, you can assign additional functions to the "Home" button, so that when you press a strong button, an application list opens or the voice assistant starts.

Believe, hope

This is not the first Samsung patent for a smartphone with a screen in the entire front panel, but the "endless" display in the company's flagships has not yet got rid of the frames from above and below. Most likely, fans will have to wait a few more years.
