Today, more than half of Foxconn's revenue falls on Apple's orders, but Taiwanese want to reduce dependence on the American company and master new market segments. The manufacturer sees the future in professional cameras with support for 8K-resolution and is already negotiating with the well-known in this industry RED Digital Cinema.

Cheaper and more compact

Plans for Foxconn most that neither is grandiose. The company promises 8K-cameras three times less than existing models, and even for a third of the price. This does not mean that everyone can afford them - in the RED lineup there is a model Epic-W 8K for almost $ 30,000, and future devices will cost at best $ 10,000.

RED is known for its cinematography cameras, which were also used on the set of "The Guardians of the Galaxy", "The Hobbit", "Transformers" and "House of Cards". Foxconn wants to create a joint venture to produce more affordable solutions, but what the potential partner thinks is unknown.

Not only cameras

Taking under its wing the Japanese Sharp, Foxconn also got access to developments in the field of displays, as well as chips for cameras and TVs. All these decisions the company will offer at lower prices, in order to quickly grab a bigger piece from the pie. Meanwhile, Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII), responsible for cloud solutions and data center equipment, is preparing to enter the exchange to raise funds to finance projects for $ 4 billion.

As for cooperation with Apple, today Foxconn collects about 70% of the iPhone. The company's factories also produce iPad, MacBook and other partner devices.
