ARM introduced iSIM technology

ARM has introduced a new technology for embedded SIM-cards - iSIM.

What is known

First of all iSIM is intended for "Internet of things" (IoT). The main advantage, in comparison with the existing standard eSIM is the cost reduction. This is achieved by the fact that the new technology is built directly into the processor, while eSIM needs a separate chip. In addition, the manufacturer said that all SIM-card data is stored in a special secure place. Also, users of devices with iSIM will be able to change the operator, which can not be done in devices with eSIM. More information about it ARM promised to tell on MWC 2018.
