Pentax K-1 mirror can be upgraded to K-1 Mark II for $ 550

Ricoh announced the Pentax K-1 Mark II full-frame SLR camera, which was so similar to its predecessor Pentax K-1 that the company decided to launch the first model upgrade program.

Pentax K-1 Mark II received exactly the same full-length 36.4-megapixel matrix size 35.9 × 24 mm and 5-axis image stabilization system. But thanks to the processor Prime IV and the new graphics accelerator, the camera is better to shoot in poor lighting. The maximum sensitivity has increased from 204,800 to 819,200 ISO units. Supports Full HD video recording at up to 60 frames per second.

In the updated Pixel Shift Resolution System II, the camera four times shifts the sensor to the size of one pixel and takes into account information about all three base colors (rather than individual RGB components, as before). This allows you to get a more natural picture with high detail.

The optical viewfinder, a rotary 3.2-inch display and a wireless Wi-Fi module are also in place. The camera body is protected from dust and moisture.

Update K-1

From May 21 to September 30, 2018, the owners of the original Pentax K-1 will be able to upgrade their camera. For $ 550, Ricoh will replace the motherboard with the processor and draw a new name on the carcass, to make it look exactly like the MK II. Details of the action will be announced later.

Those who still decided to buy the Pentax K-1 Mark II, will have to postpone $ 2000 and wait for April. The sale will also include a kit with a zoom lens Pentax-D 28-105mm for $ 2400.
