OnePlus has unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open, an OPPO Find N3 clone for the global market for €1,799

OnePlus has finally made its debut in the foldable smartphone market by unveiling its first-born OnePlus Open today. The OnePlus Open is actually a clone of the OPPO Find N3, and OPPO already has experience in releasing similar devices. Only OPPO Find N3 will be sold mainly in Asia, while OnePlus Open will be sold in the global market, including Europe.

Here's What We've Seen

The smartphone is made in the form of a book, so it will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5. On its exterior is a 6.31-inch Super Fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a resolution of 2484×1116 pixels, a dynamic refresh rate of 10-120Hz and a peak brightness of 2800 nits. Inside there is a 7.82-inch LTPO 3.0 flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 2440×2268 pixels, dynamic refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and the same peak brightness.

Another feature of the novelty are the cameras with Hasselblad settings. The main one includes a Sony LYTIA-T808 sensor with 48 MP resolution, a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with autofocus and a 64 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, there are two cameras: a 20 MP internal camera and a 32 MP external camera.

The OnePlus Open is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a 4805 mAh battery with 67W charging support. It charges from 0% to 100% in 42 minutes. The configuration is just one with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of inbuilt storage.

OnePlus claims that 95 per cent of major apps support the extended display. You can also open up to three windows on a single screen, both vertically and horizontally.

Here's What It Costs

The OnePlus Open doesn't come cheap at €1,799. But for pre-order is entitled to a gift - headphones OnePlus Buds 2 Pro. Pre-orders start today, and sales will open on 27 October. There are Voyager Black (black) and Emerald Dusk (green) colours to choose from, but European buyers will only get the first variant.
