The release date for "Deadpool 3" has been pushed back again, but it's being reported that its place may be taken by the equally anticipated premiere from Marvel, "Captain America 4"
Marvel Studios may change the release dates for Deadpool 3 and Captain America 4.
Here's What We Know
The release of Deadpool 3 has been officially delayed due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. It doesn't look like the film, whose production is "stuck" in the middle, will be released as planned on 3 May 2024. But it's possible that Captain America: Brave New World will take its place in May 2024. According to information from Deadline, that's exactly what Marvel Studios intends to do.
Although the filming of Captain America: Brave New World is also not complete, but if the updated information is to be believed, the production is at a more advanced stage than Deadpool 3. The report says that even if the strike ends in a few weeks, the Deadpool team won't have enough time to get the cast and crew together and plan the production to meet the set date.
Marvel Studios has been holding off on May release dates for over a decade. Perhaps Captain America can attract more attention as the SAG actors' strike will end sooner rather than later, and the cast will actively support and promote the film. The presence of actors such as Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford and others could be a key factor in the successful release of Captain America: Brave New World for Marvel.
As a reminder, director Shawn Levy has yet to reveal plot details for the third instalment of Deadpool. It is only known that the film, for the first time in the history of Marvel, will be rated R.
