Square Enix has announced a crossover that will see Final Fantasy XVI's protagonist appear in the Final Fantasy XIV multiplayer game

At the Final Fantasy Fan Fest event, the developers from Square Enix announced a new event in the multiplayer RPG Final Fantasy XIV.

Here's What We Know

Game designers presented The Path Infernal - an event, which will crossover between the above mentioned game and Final Fantasy XVI, which was released in the summer of 2023.

Players can expect a storyline related to FF XVI protagonist Clive Rosfield, but don't be afraid of spoilers as it will be a standalone story.

Gamers will be able to fight with the powerful fiery Ifrit. If they can defeat him, they will receive valuable in-game items, including Torgal, Clive's loyal wolf. Torgal the puppy will make a cute new pet and the adult wolf can be used as a riding animal.

When We Can Expect It

The developers have not revealed a launch date for The Path Infernal, but it is stated that the crossover will be released before the major expansion Dawntrail, which is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024.
