The fastest-selling game of PlayStation Studios: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 sold 2.5 million copies on its release day

Sony has reported that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has demonstrated fantastic results, even though it hasn't been a week since its release.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released on 20 October exclusively on PlayStation 5. More than 2.5 million copies were sold in the first 24 hours of the game's release. This immediately made the Insomniac Games adventure the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game.

The record was previously held by God of War Ragnarok. But Sony only reported that the game sold more than 5 million copies in a week. Sales for the first 24 hours are unknown.

It is worth reminding that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 also became the leader in the UK weekly game sales chart, and the release is the fourth most successful in 2023. This year, only The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, EA Sports FC 24, and Hogwarts Legacy have performed better this year. At the same time, Sony's exclusive received 91 points from critics and 8.8 points from players on Metacritic.
