China fears that the situation could escalate into an all-out war. In this regard, the authorities of the Celestial Empire decided to send six warships to the Middle East at once.
The task force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy took part in joint military exercises with the Omani Navy. After that, the six ships travelled to an unspecified location. Among them were the Qiandaohu integrated supply ship, the Type 052D guided-missile destroyer and the Jingzhou frigate.
At the same time, the US deployed the aircraft carrier strike group USS Gerald R. Ford, which included several guided-missile destroyers and one missile cruiser, to the Mediterranean Sea days after Hamas attacked Israel. Later, the U.S. dispatched the Dwight D. Eisenhower.
