Lords of the Fallen sales exceeded 1 million copies in ten days! Problematic release didn't stop the action game from gaining popularity

The release of the action game Lords of the Fallen (2023) was not as successful as the developers would have liked. The game received quite high marks from critics, but gamers crushed it for poor optimisation and not the best technical condition.

Developers from Hexworks studio promptly corrected all the bugs and released several major patches, after which gamers' reviews of Lords of the Fallen improved significantly.

Despite all the difficulties, the game showed good sales.

Here's What We Know

The publisher CI Games reported that in ten days after the release sold more than a million copies of Lords of the Fallen!

Yes, for a big-budget AAA game this figure would be a modest indicator, but for a niche project of a little-known studio - this is a decent intermediate result. For comparison, the nearest "competitor" by genre and the degree of popularity of the developer action game Lies of P took a month to sell a million copies.

Hexworks game designers continue to improve the game: a major patch was released yesterday and another update has been announced for Thursday, in which the developers will add crossplay and other features.

Flashback

CI Games head Marek Tyminski said that two big-budget projects are in development, one of which is likely to be a sequel to Lords of the Fallen.
