Qualcomm announced the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip: 30 per cent faster CPU, 25 per cent faster GPU and support for gaming up to 240 fps
Qualcomm, as promised, announced a new top-end mobile processor at the Snapdragon Summit 2023 event.
Here's What We Know
The novelty was named Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The chip is built on TSMC's 4-nanometre process. SoC received 1 core Cortex X4 with a maximum frequency of 3.3 GHz, three cores Cortex A720 at 3.2 GHz, two cores Cortex A720 at 3.0 GHz and two cores Cortex A520 at 2.3 GHz, as well as a graphics processor Adreno 750. According to the manufacturer, the novelty has a 30% faster CPU and 25% faster GPU.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 supports LPDDR5x RAM, as well as UFS 4.0 storage. The chip comes with the Snapdragon X75 5G modem, as well as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-based devices can come with cameras up to 200 MP, as well as 4K displays at 60Hz or QHD+ screens up to 144Hz. The chip also boasts Qualcomm FastConnect 7800, Qualcomm Aqstic, Qualcomm AI Engine, Qualcomm Quick Sharge 5 and support for gaming up to 240 fps (on an external display).
