US ATACMS missiles could destroy three launchers of the $1.25 billion S-400 air defence system
Ukraine may have once again dealt a severe blow to the Russian army, using American weapons. At least, this is what the Russians themselves are writing about.
Here's What We Know
Russian sources write that the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck two ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles at the S-400 Triumf air defence system. As a result of the precision strike, three launchers were destroyed.
The report said that two ATACMS missiles were destroyed as a result of a hit on the position of a Russian armed forces air defence group. The irony stems from a recent statement by the Russian defence ministry.
The day before, the defence ministry reported an allegedly great success. In particular, the interception of two ATACMS ballistic missiles, two AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles, two GMLRS projectiles and one S-200 anti-aircraft missile modified to hit ground targets.
Recently, the spent engines of two ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles were found in the Luhansk region. This may indicate the successful use of a unit with a cluster warhead containing 950 submunitions.
Ukraine has not yet commented on the situation.
