Xbox is undergoing a major reorganisation, with new executives appointed, expanded responsibilities and additional powers introduced

The merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard has been a major event for the Xbox brand, leading to significant changes in its leadership.

Here's What We Know

It became known that in the gaming division of Microsoft there was a major reorganisation.

In the editorial staff of The Verge portal got an internal letter from Phil Spencer, addressed to Xbox employees. In his message, he explained the essence of the changes taking place in Xbox and reported on the new management team.

Of course, Phil Spencer remains in his position and will continue as head of Xbox.

Former Xbox Vice President Sarah Bond has been promoted to President and will be responsible for the production of gaming devices and software, as well as deal with business development strategy.

Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty will retain his position as president of game content and studios, but his responsibilities will be expanded.

As previously reported, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick will remain in his position until the end of 2023, and he will later hand over his duties to another executive, who has not yet been named.

Xbox Chief Marketing Officer Chris Capossela, who has been with Microsoft for 32 years, will leave the company and his position will be filled by Takeshi Numoto, the former head of cloud services and marketing.

Notably, the Xbox leadership team now includes many women.
