New AirPods Max model with USB-C won't be released until late 2024 - Bloomberg
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in his new Power On newsletter that the new AirPods Max model probably won't be released until the end of 2024. Oh, and even then, you shouldn't count on dramatic changes.
Here's What We Know
First of all, Apple will replace the Lightning port in the AirPods Max headphones with USB-C to comply with European regulations and ensure uniformity across the entire AirPods line. At the same time, the company is not going to add the H2 chip or other AirPods features.
Therefore, the next version of AirPods Max will be so similar to the current models that Apple may not even change the generation number, as in the case of the updated AirPods Pro with USB-C port.
But it's possible that Apple's plans will still change in the meantime.
