Last week was full of various events in the gaming industry, mainly due to the release of many projects. In particular, Super Mario Bros. Wonder received not only general recognition among critics and players, but also impressive sales in the UK, Europe, and Japan.

Here's What We Know

In its home country, the game topped the sales charts with over 638 thousand copies sold, making it the third biggest launch among Mario games in Japan. It even surpassed Super Mario Odyssey with 432 thousand copies sold, and was behind New Super Mario Bros. Wii with about a million copies sold and the original New Super Mario Bros. for DS with a similar result.

On the other hand, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which sold around 2.5 million copies in its first few days, also had an impressive debut, coming in second with physical sales of over 77 thousand copies. However, it should be noted that the sequel's physical sales in the region were significantly lower than those of the original Marvel's Spider-Man in early 2018, when 218 thousand copies were sold.
