The number of players in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has reached over 34 million players in 10 years!
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was released back in October 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and a month later ports for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows were released. As of now, the game has 88 out of 100 points from critics and 82 points out of 100 from players on Metacritic, 85 points out of 100 and 91% of recommendations on OpenCritic, and "Very Positive" reviews on Steam based on more than 53 thousand reviews.
Many players generally consider it the best game in the series, and this is not surprising, as it had everything: an interesting story, excellent graphics at the time, a large open world, and a lot of side content that would take an average player many hours of their life. Therefore, it is not surprising that the total number of players was more than 34 million.
Here's What We Know
In honour of the tenth anniversary of the game, Ubisoft published a post on the X series account, where it said that "more than 34 million pirates have embarked on this unforgettable journey through the Caribbean...":
This is actually a bit surprising, as earlier this year it was reported that the number of copies sold was near the 15 million mark, but we can assume that this figure does not include players who played the game during free promotions or subscriptions such as Ubisoft+.
