Capcom has announced the development of the REX Engine, an improved version of its engine for creating high-end games
Almost all modern games of the Japanese company Capcom are created on its own.
This technology provides excellent graphics and realistic physical model of all objects in games.
Capcom began developing RE Engine in April 2014, and the first game on it was released in early 2017, and it was the horror Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
During this time, the engine is not much outdated, but technology does not stand still, and the Japanese developer is actively working on an improved version of RE Engine.
Here's What We Know
On the Capcom R&D YouTube channel, the company published a video in which it talked about its new development - REX Engine (RE Next Engine).
Details and technical features of the engine Capcom does not disclose, but shared that it will support all new technologies, including Mesh Shaders in DirectX 12 Ultimate and the Visibility Buffer feature, which will eliminate the need for double vertex processing.
As the RE Engine is used by developers around the world, its new iteration will feature improved localisation and a slightly simplified toolkit, as well as a user-friendly interface.
