Apple has unveiled new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max processors
Apple, as promised, held its Scary Fast presentation tonight where it showed off several new products, including updated versions of the MacBook Pro.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about the 14-inch and 16-inch models. All models in the new lineup feature Liquid Retina XDR displays with support for SDR content with 20% more brightness, a built-in 1080p camera, and a six-speaker sound system. The new MacBook Pro has a battery life of up to 22 hours. In addition, the displays have a sustained brightness of 1000 nits and a peak brightness of 1600 nits for HDR content.
The new products are powered by the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max processors. The standard M3 chip has an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, the M3 Pro chip has a 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU, and the M3 Max chip has a 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU. The processors support up to 24GB, 36GB and 128GB of memory respectively. Apple claims that the 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 is 60 per cent faster than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip. As for the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M3 Pro chip, they are 40 per cent faster than the 16-inch model with the M1 Pro.
The M3 processors are built on 3-nanometre technology and are a faster and more efficient next-generation GPU. They feature "dynamic caching" technology. Thanks to this GPU allocates the use of local memory hardware in real time for each task.
By the way, in addition to technical specifications, the new MacBook Pro models also received a new colour - Space Black. It will be available only in modifications with M3 Pro and M3 Max processors.
