American actress Scarlett Johansson has sued AI app developer Lisa AI for using her name, image and voice imitation in online adverts without permission.

Here's What We Know

The controversial 22-second advert shows an excerpt from the film Black Widow starring Johansson. A voice similar to hers then talks about the benefits of the advertised AI-powered image and video creation app.

Representatives of the actress said that she never consented to participate in this advert. Her lawyer intends to look into the situation and use all available legal remedies.

Although there is a notice at the end of the commercial that the images were created by an app and are not connected to a real person, Johansson's lawyers believe it violates her rights to her name and image.
